Interregna at the IMA
The Interim Management Association continues to go from strength to strength, with more than 30 members representing the major industry players – and maintaining integrity and quality standards.
The IMA Institute
Earlier this year, the IMA launched the IMA Institute to provide Interim Managers with accountable and professional representation for the first time, through the chief trade body in the UK. The Institute gives interim managers access to IMA providers, and to independently accredited educational resources, competency benchmarking, and a range of quality benefits, specifically targeted for the Interim market. All of this will help us ensure that our interim managers are professional and serious in their approach to their assignments.

The "Agency Workers Directive"
The IMA continues to keep a very close watch on the proposed “Agency Workers Directive” and, together with the REC (Recruitment and Employment Confederation), lobby against any possible adverse impact that new legislation could have on the appropriate use of interim managers. We remain confident that before the legislation becomes effective (probably in 2011) that any necessary exemptions for our sector will have been achieved.
After six years on the IMA’s Executive, Malcolm Alexander stepped down from his role as Director of External Affairs in April, handing over to Marcus Astley (on the left in the picture) and Tarquin Bennett-Coles (on the right).
